Optima Bank & Trust was founded in 2007 by a management team with extensive banking experience and deep roots in the Seacoast community.

Daniel R. Morrison

Chairman, President & Chief Executive Officer

Dan Morrison conceived the idea for the Bank and has been driving the formation of the Company and the organization of the Bank since early 2006. He has over 22 years of experience in banking, finance and business management. He was previously Senior Vice President and Treasurer of First Signature Bank & Trust Company in Portsmouth, where he has worked and been involved in the community since 1992. His prior banking experience includes management positions with Golden West Financial Corporation’s World Savings Bank in Oakland, CA, and Bank of America in San Francisco. Dan has also held senior management positions with a real estate development and Management Company in Portland, ME, and a leasing company in Oxford, ME, and was founder and owner of Morrison & Associates, a management consulting practice in Portland, which he sold in 1994. He is a Director and past Chairman of the Great Bay Chapter of the American Red Cross in Portsmouth; a member of the Campaign Cabinet of the United Way of the Greater Seacoast, also in Portsmouth; and a member of the Portsmouth Sunrise Rotary Club. Dan has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Francisco State University and is a resident of York, ME.

Pamela A. Morrison

Director, Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer

Pam Morrison has over 30 years of banking, legal, business and community experience. Since 1989, she has held senior management positions with First Signature Bank & Trust Company in Portsmouth and Tricorp Federal Credit Union in Westbrook, ME. Her prior experience includes positions with the law firm of Shaines & McEachern in Portsmouth, the Office of Manpower at Rein Main Air Force Base in Frankfurt, Germany, and the police department in Eliot, ME. Pam has also owned and managed rental property and has been an active volunteer in schools, church and community. She is a member and a past Director of the Portsmouth Sunrise Rotary Club. She was a Charter Member of the Seacoast Workforce Housing Coalition; a Charter Member, Director, and Treasurer of New Hampshire Home Ownership Preservation for the Elderly; and a Charter Member, past Chair, and past Secretary/Treasurer of the Greater Seacoast Banking Council. She has been a member of the Allocations Committee of the United Way of the Greater Seacoast, and a member of the Greater Seacoast Chamber of Commerce. Pam has an Associates Degree in Paralegal Studies from McIntosh College and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Southern New Hampshire University. She is a resident of York, ME.

William D. Young

Director, Senior Vice President and Chief Lending Officer

Bill Young was formerly Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending at Federal Savings Bank in Dover, NH. He has over 20 years of banking experience, including management and lending positions with Olde Port Bank & Trust Company, First Savings of New Hampshire, and BankEast. Bill is a member of the Portsmouth Rotary Club, Board Member and President of Friends of UNH Skiing, past Board Member and Treasurer of Leadership Seacoast, past Board Member of the Children’s Museum of Portsmouth and Cross Roads House in Portsmouth, and past member of the Allocations Committee of the United Way of the Greater Seacoast. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore School of Business and is a resident of Stratham, NH.

Edwin L. Garside

Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer

Edwin L. Garside is Senior Vice President, Treasurer and Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Garside was formerly Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at Stoneham Bank in Stoneham, Massachusetts. He has over twenty years of banking experience, including management positions with Andover Bank, ComFed Mortgage Corporation and Arlington Trust Company. He is member and past president of the Boston Chapter of the Financial Managers Society. Mr. Garside holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Management Information Services as well as a Masters in Business Administration, both from Southern New Hampshire University. Mr. Garside is a resident of Methuen, Massachusetts.
